His Threshing Floor | A Prayer Retreat | A Bi annual Intimate Time with The Father
For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honored), precious chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be disappointed or put to shame. 1st Peter 2:16
I am sure you are all too familiar with all that goes into looking for a job! From multiple rounds of interviews to waiting and the continuous checking of your emails! How many people have gone through this stressful situation only to complete the 4th or 5th final interview round to be told the dreaded words ‘we decided to go with another candidate’?
Even though you know that there are no guarantees until an offer is made, being dropped at this stage is gut-wrenching. What is so annoying to every job seeker is that you keep feeling that ‘this JOB is the ONE’!
As believers in Jesus Christ, how are we supposed to navigate this situation and not become discouraged in the process?
I truly believe that our answer is found in the scripture above.
Who do we put our trust in? Do we trust that WE interviewed well, do WE trust that our resume is very strong, do WE trust that we made a great connection with the hiring team?
Our trust must move from US/WE to GOD alone. When we trust God, we can go through multiple rounds which may end up in rejection, and yet not feel rejected or dejected. Trusting in God puts us in the best positions. Remember He knows everything about everything, and He made us. He knows which organization will nurture and grow us and which will scar us.
Friend, I encourage you to get off the ‘throne of your life’ and yield total control of your life to God. It may seem scary at first but your results are worth the effort. When we learn to trust God, we are no longer moved by what we see, hear or feel. Our trust remains in our unfailing God. He knows the best job, company, and business for us.
